The aluminum-lithium alloy 8090 can replace aluminum alloys such as 2014, 2024, 7010, and 7075, and is widely used in applications including floor mounting components, brackets, stiffeners, frames, wing spars, stringers, longitudinal beams, ribs, bulkheads, and tail cone skins; flight control systems and avionics baseplate structures, as well as nose sections and cabin ceiling frames. It’s also employed in flight control structures, skin panels (for the lower fuselage), cabin ceiling frames, and flat cover plates, among other critical aerospace components.
